More than 5.4 million images of CSAM have been detected worldwide
Netsweeper has a long history in helping the fight against the availability of CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) online. Our Artificial Intelligence based Categorization Engine finds suspected CSAM URLs and reports them to organizations such as the UK’s IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, to investigate and take further action in removing such content.
Many ISPs worldwide filter CSAM in their network to comply with the law in their country or to fulfil their responsibility as a good corporate citizen. Netsweeper offers a lower cost and efficient method to filter CSAM using the combination of our BGP Routing and Out-Of-Band web filtering technology. With our technology, an ISP can filter CSAM in their network using as little as a single server.
Who We Work With
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)
The IWF is the only authorized organization in the UK operating an internet ‘hotline’ for the public and IT professionals to report potentially illegal content online. Netsweeper is proud to be a longstanding member of the IWF and continues to support their goal of eliminating child sexual abuse content online.

Project Arachnid
Project Arachnid detects known images and videos of child sexual abuse material and issues notices to the hosting provider requesting its removal. The Project Arachnid List is a list of hash values and near matches that correspond to material believed to be child sexual abuse material. Netsweeper categorizes and sends the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (which operates Project Arachnid) a feed of URLs that contain Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). C3P uses this feed to complement Project Arachnid activities.
